Roman Chamomile is a sweetly aromatic evergreen perennial. The flowering head comprises a yellow disc with white florets. Flowers are borne singly on long erect stems and are a favourite with bees and butterflies.
The yield is quite small only 1% which is reflected in the price.
the oils clear to pale yellow sometimes with a hint of blue due to the chamazulene content. The odour profile is one of bittersweet herbaceous hay like notes with a warm and fruity overture.
The main properties of roman chamomile are anti-neuralgic, anti-rheumatic, calmative, digestive, and anti-inflammatory.
It is an effective in claming the nervous tension, irritability, headaches. It stimulates digestion, eases abdominal pain, pmt, irritable bowels, morning sickness
