The Konjac potato or Konnyaku is a perennial plant native to Asia and can be found growing wild at very high altitudes. A totally natural food source, Konjac is 97% water, rich in mineral goodness and low in calories. The plant is naturally alkaline, which leaves skin perfectly balanced.
Konjac has been used in Korea, Japan and China for over 1,500 years as medicine, food, a dieting aid and a beauty product. Due to the plant's claimed health giving properties, the Konjac Sponge was originally created to care after the delicate and soft skin of babies.
The sponges are 100% natural vegetable fibre mixed with pure volcanic water. They come in various colours, white as in their natural state, or green, red, black when mixed with various active ingredients, clays, charcoal, plant extracts to suit skin types and conditions.
They clean and exfoliate gently. They can be used with a favourite cleanser or without.
HOW TO USE
When first used, the sponge is hard and dry. Simply put the sponge under the tap, leave to soak for a few seconds and squeeze the excess water. It is ready to use. The sponge cleanses and exfoliates gently in one single step. It can be used on its own or with a favourite face wash. When finished, rinse thoughly, squeeze the excess water and leave to dry.
As the sponge is 100% natural, it will start to biodegrade afte 6 to 8 weeks of using it twice a day. If looked after, the sponge should last 6 weeks which will be about the time to replace it to ensure that the skin is looked after properly with a new product of good quality.
